Their star LB is out for the season now. They're defense is legit and losing him will hurt them a bit. Looks like their starting QB will be playing.

Re: Ole Miss 8 1/2 point Underdog at Missouri

if our passrush improves, our passing D should be solid.  That seems to be the issue at the moment.  we send the house to stop the rush which leaves the middle of the field wide open when the qb gets to hold the ball for longer than 2 seconds.  Benito did a great job getting to the QB this weekend.  You can bet Mizz will double up on him so Josiah needs to eat this weekend.

RR better start getting the O able to throw the ball a bit.  We can't let this be all about plumlee running the ball ever 3 plays.  We have 3 RBs, let them run it.  Now to JRP's defense, he is having to run a bit because our OL is still working on sustaining blocks.  Our WR need to step up as well.  THey need separation and they need to catch the ball when it hits their hands.

I almost hold RR and MM a little more accountable for their work because I know they have way more experience.  So MM is showing results from a D that was about as horrible as it gets.  RR is working with a large number of new parts with a huge change at QB in mid year.  most everyone is just expecting continual subjective improvement. even though bama put up a billion yards in the air, this is one of the best bama offenses in a while.  I have seen improvement the last 2 weeks.  Mizz has a much better offense so it will depend on how well our offense improves this week.  I see this game could be a 28 to 26 type game

Kelly Bryant, the Mizzou QB, supposedly suffered a sprained knee in the game with Troy Saturday and will be good to go against us. I don't know much about a sprained knee injury. Does anybody here know if it can completely heal within a week?

With RICE (Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation) a sprained knee can become much better if the sprain is not severe.  The issue would be risking any further damage to the knee with a more severe sprain or other injuries like ACL or ICL.  You can be assured that he will be getting lots of treatment and have it wrapped up for the game.  Even without him, Missouri is a better team than Ole Miss and Ole Miss generally plays poorly in Columbia, MO.  This could be a break out game for Missouri with Ole Miss' history of making mediocre teams look all world.

Re: Ole Miss 8 1/2 point Underdog at Missouri

We'll see how much we have improved by how many 3rd and longs (8,10,12,15yds) that Mizzou converts. I have cringed every time the opposing team has a 3rd and long. Our defense has not been able to get off the field.
The defense did a great job against the Commode Doors but that was the Commode Doors. And our running game did a great job this past Saturday and there was no need to thrown a lot. This Saturday will be a good test of improvement on both sides of the ball.
Bottom line this past weekend: Were we that good or is the Commode Doors that bad?

Re: Ole Miss 8 1/2 point Underdog at Missouri

this weekend we did not allow a 3rd down conversion in the first 9 tries.  I think they did convert like 3, 4th down and shorts though.    i think we ended up with like 4 for 14 and 3 of which came in the late 4th qurt i believe.

i see improvement with the D, we just have had a major drop off in offense.  But a brand new QB(s) and a lost of 4 WR who are playing on sunday's this year will have a tendency to do that.  but that is why we are paying crazy dollars for coaches, to make things happen.  just how it is and when other teams can find a way, all i expect is to beat the teams we should and find a way to win the marginal games.

us being 2 score dogs in this game should be all the ammunition i would need to be motivated to play the game, it is up to the coaches to get ready and able to succeed
