This is a prime example of the disrespectful punks who represent college football. These guys are heralded as heroes, but do not have good character qualities. As for Pruitt, he is not a very good coach and Ole Miss is lucky they did not get stuck with him. UT is in a bad downward spiral and made their mistake when they fired Fulmer. Perhaps Freeze will eventually make it to UT and get his dream job.

Why would we have been stuck with Pruitt? I don't think I have ever heard of his name being considered for any opening that we've had.

Pruitt was heavily campaigning for the Ole Miss job and there were several people who wanted him at Ole Miss. Even though he is Saban trained, Pruitt is proving that he is not an effective head coach. If Ole Miss had hired Pruitt, then they would be stuck with him at head now. Instead Ole Miss hired Fluke and are now stuck with him. Ole Miss is just not a place where good head coaches want to be and the hiring Administration just does not seem to know how to make a good hire.

Bill Clarke wanted to be at Ole Miss and he is a good coach. I don't like the rhetoric that Ole Miss cannot hire a good coach. We hired Freeze and he was pretty good.

Bill Clarke would have been a good hire. Freeze was a good hire and a diamond in the rough. The politics of being politically correct cost Freeze his job. You have to wonder what would have happened if he were given another chance. One thing for sure the compliance department did very little to help Freeze and his staff during the NCAA investigation. Everyone in that department should be fired and anyone with experience at Alabama/Auburn/other schools who snub know how to manipulate the NCAA should be hired.
My point is that very few big name coaches send their resume to Ole Miss. Over the past few decades there have not been many big names thrown in the hat. Now Ole Miss is stuck with Fluke who was not a good position coach, is in over his head, constantly makes bad decisions, is not a game day coach, and will continually circle the wagons in order to keep his job.
