Did anyone else read the recent scathing rebuke that Chuck laid down to Ole Miss fans? A lot of it was true, but I just couldn't quite go along with kinging our checker piece...

Chuck needs to get out of the "Oxford Bubble" for a little bit and get some fresh air. You don't spank your fans/customers when times are tough...like now.
Ole Miss fans aren't a bunch of happy campers right now and I'm guessing that it's hitting Chuck and many other business folks in the pocketbook right now where it hurts.
I don't know if anyone else has seen it, but the OM Spirit is offering a "Flash Sale" on their subscriptions. Their normal yearly rate is $108...the flash sale rate today for one year now is $27.
Now if season ticket sales have gone down from about 46,000 + or - to a paltry 31,000 for this season...well, that is a heck of a financial loss to our University.
Let's just conservatively say that the Ole Miss Spirit has lost about 8,000 subscribers @ a normal $108 annual rate...well, that comes to an $864,000 gross loss in real money.
The "Flash Sale" at $27 can only recoup those 8,000 customers (if they take the bait) for a reduced annual price of $216,000 for an annual loss of $648,000.
Oxford businesses (ie, such as Rebel Rags who expanded their store exponentially in the last couple of years) are suffering real losses as well and I'm sure that many fans owning "get-a-way" properties in Oxford may be a bit nervous at this time if they bought these properties on the high, emotional side when our times were good.
It doesn't look good for the next 3 to 5 years as we twist in the wind with no Chancellor or AD...
Thank you for a more accurate and truthful assessment of Ole Miss football.

Chuck is a big time homer who supported the scheme to sneak Mazzone in as football HC at Ole Miss. He drinks red and blue Kool Aid, wears blinders, and just does not seem to provide a realistic picture of Ole Miss football. Why would anyone want to spend a weekend at an Ole Miss football game with the poor product that Luke has on the field? It is just too expensive to go watch a loss when there are other things better to do on the weekend. During football season we have spent our weekends on the boat, playing Pickleball, and administering Pickleball camps and clinics. Honestly, its a lot more fun, more healthy, and socially fun. Don't get me wrong, I am still a big Ole Miss fan, but if it takes a big diminish in season tickets sales and a losing season to get rid of Luke, then that is what needs to happen.
