Jordan Sims is being moved to center. The OL is in disarray (AGAIN), and someone who has not played much at center will become the starting center. What is concerning, beside the fact that the OL never materialized over six seasons, is why centers were not recruited? If you got at least one center per class, then you should be 3-4 deep at center.
Here is the link to the story:

Matt Luke was only recruiting the best athletes for his offensive line. Slow centers didn't fit his mold for the line.
Or maybe he was too darn lazy to find a center each year.
We are going to get our ass kicked.

Hopefully in December we can take a step forward and start a new beginning by putting this nightmare behind us.

Honestly, I'm more concerned about how our defense will perform. The defense seemed to have improved slightly in the Cal game in the 2nd half - we just need to continue to make strides there. We know what we're gonna get against Alabama - a power running team with a running QB with below average accuracy. If we let Alabama just run all over us (which is what I'm afraid is going to happen), it's going to allow them to control the clock, put points on the board, and limit our offensive possessions. The defense must create turnovers and give the offense more chances.
On offense, we need to actually use tempo - which we have yet to do this year.

Here's the deal. Shea has about 2 seconds to get rid of the ball. 3 seconds if he has a good snap he doesn't have to worry about receiving properly. It really doesn't matter who is playing any of the offensive line positions. They all suck and will look like door greeters at Walmart when they are facing SEC defensive linemen.
Bama will do exactly what Cal did and that is walk everyone up in press coverage and sit the linebackers 10 yards deep off the ball effectively filling all of the "space" Longo needs to operate his offense in. No threat of a running game, no room for screens or short routes to throw open in this congestion leaves one option and that is basically go routes and hope your guy catches it in stride. If he does it could be 6. If he doesn't it's 3 and out. Our D gives up 6 and we are down a td when we take the field again. This scenario will likely repeat multiple times. If we are successful in hanging a couple of early td's they may be forced to drop off in coverage which will allow more room to operate in. If we aren't successful early it's going to be a long day. If it looks like they know our play calls it's because they do. We are running an offense that didn't work 20 years ago in the SEC. Why anyone thought it would 20 years later is beyond me when you factor in the speed of the game and the vastly improved athletes that play it.

Yep....and that means no consistency....no rhythm.... You might manage 2-3 big plays per game and that's the extent of your scoring..... Whether it's 3 and out or the bomb you don't burn much time off the clock and give the ball back to the other side....and that puts your defense back out on the field and by the end of the 3rd quarter they are gassed and then the rout begins.....

Thank you Freeze for hiring someone who has not DI experience and being so stubborn that instilled an offense that can be shut down. With this offense you can occasionally hope for a break away TD.

No offense Catfish but you need to move past Freeze. This is Luke's fiasco now. I'll be surprised if Bama even punts in this game. They will line up and run it down our throats and have an occasional long pass. We are going to be killed. I have zero confidence in this coaching staff. You can thank our O- Line issues on Luke being forced on Freeze. It would have been nice to see what he could have done without Luke weighing him down. Granted, Longo was a terrible hire.

If I remember correctly, we were hot after Scarborough. He will probably run for 200 Saturday.

Ding Ding Ding...we have a winner!
And, not that I'm making excuses for Cut or O but, I vividly recall Cut not being able to get the assistants he wanted because we went cheap....and in O's case I remember the Mazonne saga where he was GOB'd into the job.....
So the interference and favoritism continues..... The ONLY way I would take this HC job would be if I got to choose my assistants with no interference from elsewhere..... You can bet the word on the street is that any HC here has political interference in a big way.
