This was a great story and Charlie Connerly proved to be a great ambassador for Ole Miss. Those were the glory years and will be hard to duplicate. Periann is still living in Clarksdale and fairly active. She can tell some great stories about those glory days.

Charlie's nickname in Clarksdale was "Roach." There were lots of people who called him only that, never Charlie.
