75th Anniversary of D-Day

This is a day to remember and honor the brave soldiers who both put their lives in jeopardy and gave their lives in order to begin the maneuvers required to free Europe from the Nazi stranglehold.

I wonder if they will do anything for Iwo Jima next March. My grandfather was at both.

They should do something for Iwo Jima, too.  Is your Grandfather still alive and does he, or did he, ever talk about these events?

No. He died back in 1997. I did get to record him speaking about Iwo Jima and D-Day and other World War II type things. D-Day was huge no doubt. But the one that woke him up at night was Iwo Jima.
