I'm just so disappointed in him. He's asking for forgiveness, and the Christian thing for me to do is offer it, so I must. But it's still just blowing my mind that this happened and that he did this. I think that full repentance is to state the sin, and not doing that makes the apology sound half-hearted. But then perhaps he is trying to spare his wife some bit of dignity without everyone knowing whatever it is that he's done. In college football, I don't put anyone above a little recruitment misconduct. It's near impossible to be without mistakes in that. But a sex scandal from little Hugh Freeze from my own hometown! I still have trouble comprehending it. I just saw his mom the other day, first time since all this broke. I didn't dare say anything but hello and that it was good to see her. This is not some coach on the news from afar. This is someone we know. He got all caught up in that flashy celebrity world. He got way too impressed with himself. The past two years I swear I could tell something was bothering him. I kept watching him on the sidelines, and he looked scared to death like he was going to break down any moment. He knew he was falling. And then when I really think about it, I get mad. I have loved Ole Miss all my life, but with the state of the football program, the shit storm that just keeps going on and on, the gleeful hatred aimed at us, and the politics going on with traditions and the student body, I just don't want to even think about football or anything Ole Miss related. I'm spending my weekends working on home improvement projects.
Is his Mother still in Vaiden, or are they in the Five Star City? Yeah, Freeze really screwed the pooch on this one (lots of pun intended)!!!

I expected an apology only because that's usually what happens after an event such as this. I agree. Whether you want to forgive Freeze or hold a grudge, the fact remains that he totally screwed our program and it will take years to recover (if ever).

Maybe he didn't apologize for "what he has done to the program" because he doesn't think he did anything to apologize for in regards to the NCAA....I suspect he sees his 'sin' or 'wrong' as purely personal/moral and unrelated to the program.
That being said....I think maybe the change I saw come over him in the past couple of years WAS due to his personal issues and that bled over into his coaching. He was not the same 'coach' the last couple of years that he was when he got here....the fire was gone....and he appeared to be going through the motions and THAT impacts the team.... He might not see that now but I suspect he will in the future.....and then that shoe will fall on his 'head'.... That kind of revelation can be a punishment in and of itself.

Good enough for me. Let sign him up as HC for 2018

Being a Christian, I can forgive him, but I do not want him anywhere near the Ole Miss football program. Freeze had his chance and did good. Then the success went to his head and he become very egotistical and felt he was infallible. He ran the program in the ground and did not work to keep it successful. In addition, he will probably get a show cause from the NCAA. If that is the case, then Ole Miss definiltey does not want anything to do with Hugh Sleaze.

I wish he was still our coach. I really don't care if he bangs hookers as long as he wins. The alternative is Matt Luke who is too lazy to bang anybody. Just my opinion

I was joking about bringing him back for 2018. I do think this season would be much better with Freeze in control than Luke but he folded big time last year and I could see it on him during the games that he was toast. Niw we know why.
Getting over that will take more than a year IMO. Once he is ready to get back into coaching, his public image will take no longer than a season under Saban as an off-field assistant.

I noticed that a couple of years ago......the first 2 years he was on fire......then the fire died out.... You know the players picked up on that.....and as you said....it maybe now we know why..... I even thought "he knows SOMETHING and it's eating him from the inside....almost like he knew it was just a matter of time until it came out"....and that impacted his coaching style IMO.....because there was a definite shift in demeanor....

We are about to see the same thing with this lame duck staff. A beaten in TTown will only speed up the process. Nothing to play for. Kids are disinterested. Coaches knowing they will not have a job first week of December. All makes for a terrible outcome but thankfully it will be over first week of December and we can start putting the pieces back together again.
