It looks like the flag may be a topic in state political races this year. Some GOP candidates are talking openly about changing it.
My questions to you are these: Would you ever support a change to the current flag? And whether you would be for a change or not, if it was going to change, what would your preference be for a replacement?

I'm at the point now where I would change it just to make people shut up about it. To me, it's not really that important and certainly not worth a line in the sand type of movement. Of course, the topic alone will bring out the extremes from both sides. I envision the national media playing all of the race issues from the 60s and acting like it is still that way. I also see the KKK and other idiots from out of state coming to MS to protest. It will all be a huge mess.

Its simply another issue with much adieu about nothing. Why don't these people spend their time and efforts in trying to better educate the population or feed the hungry?

It's quite simple. Modern people are self-absorbed assholes. They would rather spend their time playing victim and destroying things that really don't matter than trying to make this world a truly better place.

I used to be dead set against changing the flag, I voted against the change in 2001, not just because I wasn't ready to change the current flag, but because the alternative was butt-ugly IMHO.
As I've gotten older and more reflective, I realize that our current flag doesn't represent a large chunk of Mississippians, and they have as much right to a flag that they can be proud of as I do. Also, it's about branding of our state, we don't want to give industry and commerce a reason not to consider our state as a place to do business. I'm for giving our current flag a place of honor in a museum, and moving forward.
If it is going to change, and it probably will eventually, I like the Stennis Flag as a potential successor.

It is just a matter of time, but that pompous ass in NJ should be worried about his own problems in places like Trenton and Newark. I would also vote for the Stennis flag, if I had a vote. I no longer live in Mississippi, though I've been looking at moving options for the last couple of years as I approach retirement. Digressing, however, once the flag is changed it'll be on to the next bucket list item to bring down, and don't think "Rebels" isn't on that list.

MS should pull a Georgia and adopt a 100% adoption of a Confederate flag that people are too stupid to take what it is. You never hear anything about Georgia's flag.
