While We’re Still Here

A touching thought . . .

The following is a suggestion.

From my podcast “While We’re Still Here”

I am sure many of you may have already had this same thought and acted on it. If so, bravo.

At my current age I find that far too many pieces of news come through these days telling me that friends of mine who are part of my history and with whom I have enjoyed life have departed and left us.

There is a song by Flatt and Scruggs (yes, Flatt and Scruggs) called “Bring Me My Flowers While I’m Living”. It occurs to me that most of us are too busy or don’t have the time - to tell those people around us how much brighter our lives are - how much more enjoyable the day and days and years I’ve been with them in your life.

I am not asking you to take any action on my behalf or do anything to endorse this message. But if you are like me and there are people that you have always wanted to tell - more than you have told - how much they mean to you and how much you treasure their friendship and love - let’s do it today. It doesn’t have to be anything like flowers or a card or a hallmark greeting - it could simply be a text that says “my life was better because of you”.
