Re: Welcome to big boy football Longo

The most telling is the announcer saying he talked to longo before the game and longo said he coached Shae to not make the reads, just go with instinct.  Those weren't his exact words but pretty close.  Will not prepare the boy for NFL that way

Re: Welcome to big boy football Longo

Longo is not a Power Five Conference coach.  He only got the job at Ole Miss because Freeze ran a gimmicky offense and found another coach who ran gimmicky offenses.  This type of offence will not work in the SEC, but it will work in High School, FCS, and conferences like Sunbelt and Southland.  To be successful you have to be able to run the ball between the tackles, mix in the passes, and make yards when you need it.  Longo ball will not work and will deter any potential player such as RBs (i.e. - Cam Akers) and QBs to not choose Ole Miss because the Longo offense does not get them ready for the NFL.

Re: Welcome to big boy football Longo

I think this offense has worked in the SEC.  Our crap OL kept us from winning the 1-2 games/year we needed to make Atlanta in 2014 and 2015.
