It is unfortunate that most politicians and politics are corrupt.  Instead of being concerned about the welfare of the people who they represent, the politician is more interested in making money for themselves, pushing party agendas, and following the big interest groups.  If politicians genuinely cared about  the people who they represent instead of taking a self serving agenda, our country would be a much better place.

I thought I read somewhere that Perot's son expressed some interest in running. Eventually, a third party candidate is gonna win. This last election was the perfect time for it. Gary Johnson was just a poor choice, but I still voted for him.

the root of our voting ignorance as a nation today is purely the fault of the media.  the media has turned hard left the last 20 years and it has spread through the shows we watch on TV, music we listen to and now even the sports we watch.  the left is so use to hearing what they want to hear that anything different is met with intolerance and vitriol.  The right has it's laundry list of issues, but the right does has elements that tries to keep itself in check.  I am a libertarian but I am very conservative.  That does not mean I am republican.  But when I step in the voting booth, I vote for the person that is best or the least destructive, and 99.9% of the time, that person is republican. Because the democrat party has no filter, has no one trying to regulate the run away fringe progressive ideology that the entire base seems to be sprinting towards. there are countless govenor, mayor, senate and house candidates openly advocating for socialism or soft communism and the moment anyone calls it out, the media attacks and smears. 

the last scotus picks from obama are hard left anti constitution candidates yet the republicans voted them in because the president makes picks and the constitution only asks congress to advice and consent. I contend that people liek sotomyer and kagen fail any test on being able to judge issues of anything being constitutional and base their ruling on ideology and emotion.  That is why we are in the mess we are in today as a nation.  rule of law is subjective, and emotion rules our actions and is why our society is shaking at the foundation and if the current pick for SCOTUS fails, it will be the start of a very destructive future for our government, specially if the left continues to grow the number of radicalize people that makes up their base..
