Oregon cornerbacks coach Charles Clark reportedly is a candidate to join the Ole Miss staff.
On Wednesday, Football Scoop reported that Clark is a possibility to become a member of Matt Luke’s stable of coaches in Oxford. Clark worked on the Ducks’ staff this season, after serving as Colorado’s cornerbacks coach during the 2015 and 2016 seasons. He also worked as Colorado’s safeties coach from 2013-14.
Clark began his coaching career as a defensive quality control intern at Duke in 2008. He was a defensive graduate assistant for the Blue Devils in 2009 before working as San Jose State’s defensive backs coach from 2010-12.
Clark has ties to Ole Miss. He was a four-year letterman at the school and totaled 198 tackles, 3 interceptions, 12 pass breakups and 5 fumble recoveries in 47 games.
Given Clark’s ties to Ole Miss, securing a spots on the Rebels staff likely would be a comfortable situation for him. Ole Miss went 6-6 this season.
