looks to be Dave Aranda from LSU. I think he is a great choice.
With the reports of how bad OC Canada and Ed O got along and now Aranda spliting, not a good look for ole Ed O.
I really like Ed o, but as i have always have said, he is what he is. a Hell of a recruiter and a decent DL coach. that is it. I have had the chance to talk with Ed many times over the years and really like him.
But a HC, no way.
The coonasses will eventually decide that just because he talks like us, doesnt mean we want him as the HC of our Football program.
In talking to some people that know that situation pretty well down there, they said Ed wanted that job so bad that he basically sold his soul for the job. He pretty much accepted who his higher ups told him to keep/hire as asst coaches along with him deferring many other things that Hc's usually make decisions on.
That stuff never works out.

Speaking of LSU, in a round-about way, I caught a brief snippet on one of the talking head shows this afternoon about Les Miles and Arizona. I didn't listen long enough to find out if it was actually in the works, or just speculation on their part. Interesting thought nonetheless.

Miles is being considered at Arizona. The top candidates are Kevin Sumlin, Jeff Tedford, and Lane Kiffin.

Looks like aranda is staying at LSU. Still not a good look for ED O. Reports that Aranda is getting 2.5 million per year and a a head coach in waiting title.
I mean, head coach in waiting? Also Ed is only making 3.5 million. Looks like 2018 might be Ed's final season as HC

A&M certainly is ponying up some serious money in trying to put together the best staff they can.

TAMU is committed to winning championships so they are supporting their team financially. There is lots of money in Texas, primarily due to the oil industry. A good friend's brother is an older big time supporter of the TAMU program. He has stated many times that the donors will provide whatever financial support is needed in order to be winners.
A few years ago, he talked about the expansion at Kyle Field. He said that it will be the largest stadium in the SEC. He also indicated that the construction and upgrades would be done quickly and on a timely basis. Well, the next thing you know, The Kyle Field expansion was complete and done on a timely basis.
If only this attitude could be adapted at Ole Miss. By the way, if you have never been to TAMU to a game, it is worth the trip, even if you are the visiting team.

I do want to make a trip out of College Station at some point to check out a game there. I remember when they were starting construction they had bulldozers just outside the endzone waiting for the final seconds to tick off the clock. Meanwhile, it has taken Ole Miss two years to build a small belltower outside the North Endzone.............
