The prices of tickets are out of control. I saw where the big games were face valued at $95. That is crazy. I haven't had season tickets in a long time due to my wife's health issues but even if I wanted to, I couldn't afford that. I have 4 kids. For me to take my family to a game, it would run me over $700 if you count in food and fuel. Gone are the days of college games being a family activity.

There is no doubt that ticket prices are extremely high. Everyone wants to put their hands in your pocket and take your hard earned money. At $95 per ticket, a family of four could rarely enjoy a gameday experience unless they have a large disposable income. If you add lodging to the equation, you could easily spend $1,500 per weekend just for a ball game experience. With these high prices, it is doubtful that we will plan to attend an Ole Miss game anytime in the near future.

I gave up my season tix some years ago. With my son playing on Friday nights it was just too tough. Plus the prices with the extra Loyalty Foundation donations were just too much. I usually go to one game a year to give my youngest the experience. Got 4 tix to the Arkansas game (sideline not end zone) off Seat Geek for 50 bucks apiece. Better than getting end zone nose bleed seats from the school for 90 apiece or more.

I am hesitant to fork over the money for the prices being charged now for tickets, plus the costs associated with attending the game. Another cost I always incurred was my wife would agree to go if she could wear a new "cute little outfit." She already HAD a closet full of those. Also, she never understood disrupting a good party in the groove because of a football game. She's an OM fan and I love her.

Maybe Ole Miss is trying to make up for the lost SEC revenue that they gave as an NCAA concession. Regardless, college football has become a money machine for colleges and the average fan is being left out of the equation. To me it is just ludicrous to pay $95 for a ticket to see a football game that is almost always on TV. Also, with the parking situation, getting on campus is not as easy and fun as it was in the past. I am not a fan of high ticket prices.

I didn't attend a single game in person last year - it's just too expensive really. I'd much rather sit at home, throw some food on the grill, drink some homebrew, and watch the game on TV on my couch. This season coming up, with the NCAA crap and likelihood of the team imploding in September, I just don't have the desire to go. Maybe next season when we hire a new HC, then I'll see about going up to a game, but as of now, I'd much rather go to a baseball or basketball game in person than a football game.

I didn't attend a game last year either. With my Dad's rapid health decline I didn't do much of anything outside of care for him. In other years I would have been bouncing off the walls ready to see the Rebs play in person but life has a way of prioritizing things. This year will be my first football season without my Dad so I certainly don't have any desire to go. I'm hoping that will change in time but so far I have had hardly any motivation. The NCAA has accomplished their goal whether we are hammered or not in that fans like myself are so tired of the never ending attack from every corner that we just don't care any more.

For many years I purchased 4 tickets to every game both home and away. Paid the Loyalty Foundation to sit on the 50 Yard Line. Drove to the drivable games in my motorhome flew to the far away games. But I stopped that a few years ago. Got to old and got to expensive but the real reason I got to where my recliner ended up being the best seat in the stadium. My AC keeps me cool on those Super Hot Autumn days and my Central Heat keeps me comfortable on those cold as hell days. Plus my bathroom is handy and my drinks and food is handy and I can nap if the game gets out of hand.
A couple of years ago I was on a cruise and the ships internet service was to slow to get the game in my cabin so our good buddy catfishboy gave me a play by play of the whole game and for that I will be eternally grateful. I am looking forward to this shitty messed up season getting started and I am hoping our Johnny Rebs Surprises Everybody.

If you guys are not buying tickets or supporting the Loyalty Foundation,
I don't think you should be so critical of us "good ole boys" who still do. There are 3 games that only cost $35 per ticket. A family of 4 can do the whole week-end for less than $500.00, if you don't have to stay in Oxford. My son stays in Batesville, meets us in the Circle for tailgating, goes to the game and eats at one one of the Mexican restaurants, fills up with gas and goes home (271) miles one way for about $450. Sure you can easily spend over a $1000. If you want, but you certainly do not have to. If he and my daughter-in-law can do it 2 or 3 times a year on a preacher and a teacher's salary, most everybody that wants to can do it. It is where you place your emphasis. Y'all are right about one thing, TV is hurting ticket sales.

I don't think anyone has been critical of those that purchase tickets, unless I missed something......
