How do you like this response as to who Matt Luke will hire as the 10th Asst Coach:
"A tenth assistant can be hired as early as January 9th, but do not look for it to happen that quickly. Our expectations are for Matt Luke to let a lot of the dominoes fall in the coaching world and see who shakes out before making any quick decisions. It's a critical hire and the Rebs need another stud recruiter and tactician. Matt has already indicated the 10th man will work on the defensive side of the ball. There's been a lot of speculation about names, but I have been assured no serious discussions have taken place yet. Luke certainly has his eye on several possibilities, but he doesn't want another Trey Scott situation on his hands, where he hires someone and they leave two weeks later for "bigger and better" opportunities."
For the Love of God can this nightmare not ever end? How long do we let this circus continue?

I just read about State's new coach and how he's a proven OC and was paid 2.6 million. We promoted a guy who's proven he can't coach up an offensive line and give him over 3 million. He would have taken the job at 1 million and at least then his buyout would have been cheap when we fire him.

Well....we see how he's going to approach things.....sit back, wait, and select the left over dregs...but that's nothing surprising....most everyone except the administration knew this would be the case with his hire....that's why so many people are upset....we got snookered.... That doesn't sit well with people.......but they're supposed to just shut up....support....send money.....buy tickets.....they are so out of touch they think blind loyalty will override common sense.....and they are in for a rude awakening.... In all my years I can't remember less excitement for a hire not to mention this much animosity. The support they think they can generate with BS isn't going to last long.

Nailed it Johnny. I would venture to say Luke's seat never cooled from when he should have been fired as OL coach 5 years ago. Most of us likely cooled on the idea of him being fired during this past season knowing that he would not be retained with the new HC hire. At no point was it even imaginable that Ole Miss would make that critical mistake. Then they did and the shit is still and will continue to hit the fan for a long long time.

Every newly named HC on the SEC will probably turn out to be an Up-grade over the previous coach except for Olé Miss.

This is what I've been saying all along. Ole Miss had the opportunity to make a critical hire that would get us back on track the fastest and help us navigate through this NCAA mess. The right hire and we are back rolling in a couple of years. The Luke hire easily sets us back 10 plus years and as stated above the competition isn't reminding stagnant. They are improving. Meanwhile we are doing the turtle move and slinking farther and farther back into the shell.

I know right? Have to wonder if any of them have looked around the country and how many golf courses have shut down, are struggling to stay open and are hemorrhaging members?
