Re: Why Bjork Hired Luke

Mmmmmm Mmmmmmm...pass the Koolaid....I'll bet the homer site is abuzz with admiration.....I'll bet dollars to donuts anyone over there expressing the slightest criticism is being told to leave and don't come back.....

That guy needs to run for congress...he's got the art form of talking and saying jack shit down to a "T"....

Soooooo....people were calling and texting expressing interest right up to the time of the ML announcement.....Let me guess.......none of them were "Qualified"......or met the 'criteria" which, from what I've been able to understand was a deep love of OM.....

In my 50+ years of following OM FB I can honestly say this is the most disappointed and disgusted I've ever felt with a hire, although Hootie Nut was a close second but for different reasons.  It's not that he's an OM guy but it's the fact that I don't see ANY qualifications to merit the hire.

I remember when Billy Kinard was hired....The fans basically rejected him not because of his record.....it was the backdoor political hire.....it smacked of the fix was in.....  This hire has that same feel to me and I suspect it will turn out similar to the Kinard disaster....because people resent the hell out of being played for a fool (nationwide search my white ass)......  The boo birds will be out much earlier in that case.....and once that starts a coach is done....stick a fork in him.  Make no mistake about it....this has driven a wedge through the fanbase.....and a house divided cannot stand.

Johnny I have posted some over there and the responses have been comical to say the least.  Truth hurts and folks over there don't like anyone having an opinion contrary to the sunshine pumpers and kool aid slurpers.

Re: Why Bjork Hired Luke

Out of all that long article the thing that stood out to me was at the next to last paragraph when Bjork said he decided that he would "hire the best coach" and that coach was Matt Luke.  Maybe I am blind but I do not see how Matt Luke can be the best coach.  You mean Matt Luke was a better head coach than very experienced head coaches that Bjork talk to or better head coaches that the Search Firm talked to.  I just cannot see that.  There were no names given in the article and I understand why but I feel like Bjork talked with Strong, Norvel, Morris, Brown, I can't spell his name without looking it up but the North Carolina State HC who came on the scene in the last few days and other bigger names and more experienced HC than Matt.  So how could Bjork say he decided to "hire the best coach" then hire Matt Luke.  I may be wrong but I still don't see it.  I hope Bjork is right because I don't want Ole Miss to go through another 3 to 4 years of losing seasons then have to repeat a coaching search all over again.  Waste of time and money.  But I guess the money guys will now have better access to the HC and His Office and that should make them feel better about themselves while we are going 4-8.  Best HC  I don't think so but I hope Bjork is right.

Re: Why Bjork Hired Luke

Its funny that Turnkey didn't do any interviews with Luke - Bjork kept them away from Luke during the process. Probably didn't want them to tell him that Luke has the football IQ of a stump.

I'm infuriated that we saw Luke make dumb decision after dumb decision that even commentators were speechless about - and for Bjork to say that Luke was the best coach? Total bullshit.

And now they're circling the wagons  trying to BS us into supporting this "stump" blindly.  It will be a total propaganda blitz and if you don't jump on the merry go round they will then try to shame you into silence.......it's worked for them in the past and they'll go back to their playbook of old favorites to control opinion.
