Hey Meridian....or anyone who is tech savvy....
Who makes a good wireless router? Having an intermittent problem with my current wireless router....refusing to assign device IP addresses to my Raspberry Pi Player (does the same on my backup PI also so I'm sure it's the router hiccoughing)....
I looked on Amazon at reviews and almost all of them seem to have problems either with dropping signal or range...
Any thought/recommendations appreciated....

I can tell you to stay away from any Netgear Nighthawk models. I have a Nighthawk R7500, and this is the second RMA unit that I've had Netgear send me. It's a total piece of sh*t. Next purchase, I'll be going back to a Linksys (like a EA4500 style model).

That is so true. I was really impressed when I got this Nighthawk router, but after a year I started having problems with it. I had Netgear replace it about 3 months ago, and then I had to get them to replace it again last week. Pretty frustrating. So, from now on, I'll be sticking with Linksys.

Hate to hear that about netgear. I ran linksys for years before sisco spun them off. Their product went to shit after that. I’ve had a couple of netgear models including the nighthawk. I’ve got the Tri band unit netgear makes now and it has worked well for well over 3 years.

I am happy as heck with Ubiquiti. I have a Ubiquiti router (not wireless) plus a Ubiquiti Access Point (wireless). You need to be a little tech savy to conifgure it though.

We have the Netgear R7300 DST router and have been very happy with the router. It gives good coverage with elimination of dead spots. The router is dual band so we get both a 2.5 Ghz and 5.0 Ghz bandwidth. With all of the capabilities provided by various electronic devices, it is easy to use lots of bandwidth. In order to alleviate this issue it is important to get a router that is robust and will handle lots of bandwidth. This could mean spending more money, but in the end you will be glad that you opted for a more expensive router.
