Lou Spanos (who is he)

I think in this day of cfb, people don’t see all the contributions the “off field” people do. The analyst in today’s game are huge and the average fan doesn’t realize who their teams have. Saban started the trend, basically creating the position and getting guys that were basically big name guys that usually were getting paid mostly by their previous employers

Spanos

He's entering his second season with the Rebels, but his bio on his Ole Miss page is blank.

Who is he?

From 1995-2009, Spanos was the defensive quality control and assistant linebackers coach for the Pittsburgh Steelers (two-time Super Bowl champion), then coached Washington's linebackers for the 2010 and 2011 NFL seasons. From 2012 to 2021, Spanos moved around from UCLA (defensive coordinator), Tennessee Titans (linebacker's coach), Alabama (analyst) and UConn (defensive coordinator, interim head coach). Spanos checks all of the boxes.

What does Kiffin feel like he brings to the table in Oxford?

"Lou has a ton of experience. He's been in the NFL for a long time and been a coordinator before and (he's) really good with rush stuff. It's great that Lou stayed again because a lot of these guys come in and they're gone after a year," Kiffin said of Spanos.

Monte Kiffin is also a Analyst, didn’t think I needed to post his Resume
