We were dead at the time we fired Matt Luke but Lane was the home run hire. 2020 was just an odd year bc of covid but we had success and there was excitement. Last year was very fun but I wasn’t expecting much this year bc we lost so much, especially corral. Of course, we reloaded through the transfer portal but still hard to replace what we lost. 7-0 was great but we knew there were still some deficiencies. The last 5 games were not good at all, especially with all the “kiffin to auburn” mess the last two weeks.
A lot of people are saying they hope he leaves and if he doesn’t, we have to fire him. I’m personally hoping he stays. He has brought in a ton of talent and has more lined up in our recruiting class. Plus there is the portal. But what excites me the most is that it has been obvious that kiffin didn’t trust Dart this season. There was good reason for that but it’s also obvious that he has gotten significantly better throughout the year. I’m expecting the same kind of jump for Dart next season as we saw from corral between 2020 and 2021. We also have Judkins.
There is a lot to be desired with defensive scheme and offensive play calling. But, honestly, how much of that is related to not having the same type of talent as Bama and LSU? The closer we bring ourselves to that type of talent, the more success we have on the field. Then the play calling and scheme don’t appear to be so bad. If we lose Kiffin, we take a big step back.
It sucks pretty bad right now. But, when I take a step back, Kiffin is still our best bet going forward.

I’m ok with Kiffin staying — but I think he does need to look at these coordinators he’s hired and really evaluate how they’ve performed this season
And we can’t keep having these flirtations with other jobs every November — I wholeheartedly believe that has been a distraction these past few weeks and I think he could have done something to quash it by now if he does intend on returning.
As far as this season - we all knew the schedule was backloaded…I still say 1-4 is a disappointing finish but 8-4 after losing Corral, 2 coordinators, and some really good defensive players isn’t terrible.
Kiffin did say tonight he anticipates being at Ole Miss next year - guess we’ll find out for sure within the next 48 hours

Somehow we MUST find players for both sides of the LOS. We were beaten badly by State’s front 7. Dropping 8 in a soft zone for entire game is insane, especially with no blitz packages. I won’t even comment on play calling, for the ineptness is too obvious when compared to the two previous years under Lebby! If Kiffin stays, hope it’s not too late to demand changes in OC & DC.

OC and DC must be changed. The 3 man front with 10-15 yard cushions is ridiculous. Offensive okay calling has been piss poor all season.

We need a defensive coordinator who will put more than 3 men on the line. You CANNOT stop a decent offense running or passing with only 3 men rushing.

People have said it’s Kiffin that insists on the 3 man front - I don’t know if that’s true or not

I've seen Junior High coaches that call call plays on offense better than what we have. If we are going to score we had better do it from more than 20-25 yards out. once we get inside the "Red Zone", we are really bad. If we have 1st and goal inside the 10, forget it...
