I realize our competition hasn't been much for the first two games, and apparently G. Tech are not what they used to be. That being said, I have been more satisfied with our d so far this year. There have been times they might have looked a little soft and that may be an issue as competition improves. But overall it looks like the scheme as a whole and the aggressiveness as a whole has improved. I am cautiously optimistic that as the season goes on and all these transfers continue to gel we are going to be a team to reckon with.

I do like that the defense is more aggressive at times. I think the depth that has been built is starting to pay off.
Next week's game against Tulsa will be a very good test. I think Tulsa leads the country in passing.

It also shows how to do the transfer portal correctly (OM) and how to do it not correct (Ga Tech). Tech took 17 transfers and they looked like they had no idea what to do.
You have to get guys that fit your culture, fit your scheme offense or defense etc
Just bringing in a DE just because you need a DE doesn’t work.
Many of there programs that went transfers heavy are learning this lesson hard.
Lane and his recruiting staff have done a great job at this. His recruiting staff gets a ton of credit as they reach out to do the background on these guys before even bringing them to Lane etc.

I'm still in denial about our D. What I saw Saturday couldn't actually be our defense... could it?
