Hunter Elliot

This kid could end up being a weekend starter, as a true freshman, before the end of the year. He reminds me a good bit of Ryan Rolison. He doesn't have the most overpowering stuff, but has a fastball that will hit in the low 90's that he throws in the upper strikezone. He has a very good curve and his slider has a nice snap. Once he gets better with locating that slider, he could be lights out. I know it was just ULM but he was dominant through 4 innings with 9 K's, 3 H, 1 R, 1 BB. For this season so far - 7.1 innings, 4 H, 2 R, 2 BB, 13 K's, 2.45 ERA, with opponents batting .167 against him.

We currently do not have a dominant weekend starter like we have had in the past, and I really think Elliot will end up being in that rotation before this season is over. Kid is a future star.

Re: Hunter Elliot

It seems like the same thing every year, the Rebels either have good hitting, and mediocre pitching, or good pitching and mediocre hitting.  Regardless, looking into the crystal ball, this team will be in the upper part of the SEC West, make a regional, and then choke in the super regional.  Bianco will still get a raise and a contract extension.  This is just how it happens at Ole Miss.
