Snowball effect

yes, it was a tough loss, but were really not in the game from the start.  Think about it, just had a brutal 4 game stretch coming in, a TON of injuries, so many i wont even list them. All American Qb came into the game on one leg and needed a pain shot just to play this week, then hurts other ankle and had to go in and get a pain shot on in to just be able to walk.  Those dont last forever..   OM had a decent 1st line of players, but zero depth, esp defense.  Auburn has recruited well for years, has depth on both lines.  It's not coaching, coaching decisions or even the first string guys.It is where a program on year 2 is mid season when it was taken over after being neglected for 3 years.

I know fans will be fans and it's ok to be mad at the loss.  I thought OM would win, but it would be close and they would have to play a perfect game.

Add all that up and add a night game on the road in the SEC..

But take yourself back to Dec 2019 when Kiffin was hired.  OM had about maybe 60 players on scholarship, Corral was going to transfer and the place was just a mess. but in just 18 games, OM had won a New Years Bowl Game against the #11 ranked and second best record in the Big 10 team, and a top 20 recruiting class. Went into a road game against a top 15 team as a top 10 ranked team and played them till the end with 1/2 a team.  Will at WORST be 9-3, be in another New Years Day Bowl game, will have a top 15 recruiting class if not better.

It's ok to be mad, disappointed in the loss, but lets keep this in perspective.  When people are blaming this and that, remind them of the direction of this program.  The deficiencies can only be addressed in recruiting and this staff is definitely doing that.

It's great to have a program that has expectations high so that you can be mad when you dont win a game.

perspective.

Have a great week Rebs

Re: Snowball effect

I’m actually not to disappoint it - I knew playing at Auburn was gonna be tough and a hard place to win. I know a lot of folks expected Auburn to be one of the lesser teams in the west this year but they’re not bad at all…they’re better than they were projected to be.

Two losses at this point of the year is not bad at all….yea 7-1 would be better, but I don’t thing 6-2 is anything to sneeze at especially considering how the past 5 or so seasons went.

I just hope against Liberty next weekend we can get some folks rested - however as banged up as the team is that game may be closer than we’d like.
