Issues facing the Ole Miss offensive line after a poor showing last week at Alabama may have been compounded. According to sources, starting left guard Caleb Warren will undergo surgery Thursday morning to repair three damaged ligaments in one of his ankles. Warren started eight games for the Rebels last season and had been a mainstay as the starter at left guard this season.
The injury occurred during practice this week, according to sources.
The good news is that Warren is expected to be back on field by the end of October, per sources.
As to who will fill the void created by Warren's absence on Saturday when Ole Miss battles Arkansas, that responsibility will likely fall to either South Carolina transfer Jordan Rhodes or redshirt freshman Cedric Melton.
Warren, a sophomore, hails from Louisville, Miss. He was a three-star prospect out of Nanih Waiya High School.
