Their HC Scotty Walden is a good friend of mine.   He was the HC at East Texas Baptist University here in Marshall, TX a few years back.  He was the youngest HC in college football at the time (26).  Left to be the WR coach at S. Miss  a few years back and then was Interm HC there when Hopson resigned last year before the season started.

Walden is a star in the making, will be a bigtime power 5 HC in a few years. Already has Austin Peay playing good football. Had a spring season since they are 1-AA.

If you watch the game today, you will see a fired up dude running up and down the sideline. Of course they are out manned against OM, but they will play hard and run some up tempo and good offensive concepts.

He is good friends with Lebby.  When Lebby was coaching in HS at Stephenville, Walden was QB at Cleburne HS in the same district.

Walden is only 31 NOW.




He has a great staff he has assembled for a 1-AA school, many either played or coached for him at ETBU.

OL coach Cochran played at Texas, GA at Baylor, coached OL at ETBU for Walden
QB/GA coach  Dru Smith played QB for Walden at ETBU was all conference, was a ass with me in 2018 in HS and has been HC coach the past few years

Brian Baca  TE coach was backup QB when Walden was at ETBU, then was starter after he left and Smith graduated. was GA at ETBU and has coached HS in Texas. dad and brothers all football coaches in Texas

Kirk Bryant Slot WR coach, was co OC at ETBU under Walden, WR coach at Baylor, played at Miss College

Jourdan McNeill RB coach, played for Walden at ETBU, All American,  then coached at Belhaven in Jackson, went to a few NFL camps after his college career
