Memphis has it 4th and goal. Norvell understands football and goes for it (only a 7 point game in the 3rd). TD for Memphis. Even if they didn't get it, it's the right call. Luke would have gone for the FG and left 4 points out on the field.

And watching this game reminds me - how many screens has Longo called this year? I can't remember one.

WR screens were HF's favorite play, and they were pretty effective b/c our WRs could block.
Has anyone else wondered why Memphis plays on Friday night so much? This is like the 3rd week in a row. Are they a college or high school team?

With nothing to lose this year, going for it on 4th and goal makes sense, but there is a big problem for Luke making this decision. The problem is that it is not the Cutcliffe way!!!

The easy answer is being on prime time TV coast-to-coast, which they might never have the opportunity for on a Saturday. Of course, it could also be that the conference agreed to so many mid-week games in their ESPN contract, and Memphis is just getting stuck with them.

Go back and look at the Alabama and Auburn games. It was screen city, especially on 3rd and long.

I'm taking about middle screens to RBs. I know we run a bunch of wr screens. I'll go back and watch some of those games. Guess the drinking that came with watching us has clouded my memory. LOL
