yes the money is better, but at some point do you not want to be higher on the pecking order. And the money would not be that different without them in a new contract. The SEC is king with or without them.
To me voting for them to join if you are one of the miss schools is just a way of admitting that they will always be 2nd tier in the SEC.
I see people say, if the MS schools vote no, the SEC will eventually kick them out. That is BS. Schools have wanted Vandy out for years and they offer nothing to the conference. The SEC is not kicking out any charter members of the conf.
I see people say that the other schools will leave the SEC and form their own conference. Another BS excuse.
If the time comes when SEC schools leave the SEC it will be because all the power 5 schools will just form a league like the NFL.
If I am a OM or MSU alumni or booster, I am emailing my leadership to vote no. Wont matter much, but i would left my feeling be known.

I'm not at all for expansion. Having said that, I don't think Texas is gonna get back to being a powerhouse under Sark. I have a feeling Sark will be gone in a couple years, unless he's managed to get his demons under control. OU is another story.

Texas and Oklahoma don't scare me at all. Easier than playing our current SEC schedule. Bring 'em on.

I saw today the vote was indeed unanimous among the 14 existing member institutions

Texas and Oklahoma will still recruit like they have. Maybe they use the move to try to start trying to cherry pick Mississippi. But I don't think it will make a huge difference against us in recruiting.
As far as games, we will still play a tough SEC schedule and won't play them every year. Maybe we just play OK instead of Florida one year or TX instead of Georgia. But that shouldn't actually be a huge difference for us either.
Also, I think TX and OK won't prove to be top 5 teams every year with an SEC schedule. I think it is more likely they end up in the 8-4/9-3 range in the SEC than we end up 5-7/4-8 with them in the SEC.

I go back to the old saying, If you are scared, say you are scared.
This will just allow schools to have more money to cheat with. Some of us get penalized, the big boys go scott free. It's all about the money...
I heard that the vote to admit TX and OK were 100% approval. That means Texas A&M agreed, also. Obviously, Jimbo isn't scared.

Yes, A&M voted yes, but it was a formality by then. If they had partners like OM, MSU, Ark they would have voted no. But they got no help.

My threshold of patience with sports keeps getting tested
Ole Miss has been disrespected by the sec for decades and with tx/ou coming over, the top 4-6 teams will get all support from the sec and the rest of us will get the fewer scraps.

College football is big business, and TX & OK bring big money, names, local talent, etc. to the table. It's hard for these admin voters to see their respective roads to winning getting harder when there is so much money in their faces.

It's simply about the money. Now what will happen to the Big 12 and how will the SEC handle a whiny Texas when they want to start dictating policy? Allegedly, many arrogant Texas fans say that the SEC Office will move to Austin after Texas joins the SEC.
