Is it too early to worry about recruiting?

We are dead last at #58 on the Spirit site.  Both Georgia and LSU have more 5 stars than we have total recruits.  The SEC average right now is 7.28 recruits per team, and we have 2.   UT, SC, and Aub had coaching changes and have slightly more than us.  Are we having a problem with our recruiting coaches, or are we in on some big fish that haven't been reeled in yet?  Are there others than me that are concerned?  Hopefully I'm just jumping the gun.

I think it's way too early right now to be worried about it. February 2022 is a long ways away. Last year we were way towards the bottom of the conference and we ended up with the 17th ranked class. Lane doesn't seem to take the Freeze recruiting approach of chasing stars, and seems to really focus on "needs".

Re: Is it too early to worry about recruiting?

As Meridian mentioned, it is too early to judge the 2022 recruiting results by the rankings.  This year there should be some summer camps and lots of players will be offered then.  Many of the players are making their visits and want to ensure they make a good choice for their school.  Even Alabama is not in the top 10 of the 247Rivals.com recruiting rankings.

Kiffin will be more selective than past coaches on the players he signs.  He seems to recruit for needs which is something past coaches seemed to not do very effectively.  You can be assured that Ole Miss will move up in the football recruiting rankings and more players will start committing this summer.

I think it is. If this were September or October then maybe not. We were low for a long time last year but finished pretty strong.

Also one of those situations where if we look really good this fall, better players may be attracted to us.
