Re: Is anybody ready to have a real conversation ....

Excellent post Johnny.  Every point that you made is right on and I couldn't agree with you more.  Some people have asked me why I don't go to the games anymore.  I really didn't know what to tell them but you said it all.......It is just to difficult to get from my car to the stadium and the grove just doesn't do it for me any more.  Too many drunks who don't know how to act out in public.

Ah, yes . . . those were the days.  You could park in The Grove and tailgate out of your trunk.  Nothing was elaborate, just good picnic food like fried chicken, deviled eggs, cheese straws, pimento cheese, ham sandwiches, potato chips, cheese and crackers, cupcakes, cookies, pecan pie, tea, cokes, lemonade, and the adults had their "beverages".  There was plenty of room in The Grove for the children play football, hide and seek, or just run through The Grove.  Time, the demand for Grove space, and the Ole Miss administration has eroded this college football game day atmosphere.

Re: Is anybody ready to have a real conversation ....

On the subject of the band... seriously, why haven't they replaced songs with new songs? I know we won't ever get any Dixie songs back but they could have at least given us new ones and introduced us to them. Nothing about Louie Louie fires me up. Nothing about When A Man Loves A Woman fires me up. The Geico commercial doesn't fire me up. They've damn near destroyed everything and I wonder why I am still hanging on to this place.

They could do "Cotton Fields Back Home" by CCR.

Ha ha.....that would go over like a lead balloon....or banana peel if you get my drift.
Shoot if we're going that direction how about Old Man River......I hear sharks can live in river water for a while before they have to get back to salt water....
