Well....Looks like Tennessee is going to boot the Butch.... Wonder if he'll have a U-Haul left in his driveway.....
And while we wait on the NCAA to grace us with their words of wisdom other schools are getting ahead of us in the coach hiring race..... so once again the NCAA shadow bends us over another stump....

Tennessee isn't going to be after the same type of coach we are after so I don't think anything they do will have any affect on us.
Until I'm proven wrong I'm still going with them hiring Freeze.
Auburn may hire Petrino the right way this time too.

Petrino is easily one of the most overrated football coaches in college football --- don't see why any SEC team would touch him, or why Louisville even brought him back.

I wouldn't be surprised to see TN go after Hugh....the potential show cause question might be a problem though...
Auburn looks to lose 2 more (UGA and Bummer)....so Gus is on thin ice....he might be able to hang on 1 more year.

Because he's won everywhere he has been including Arkansas at heights they haven't seen before or since, as OC at Auburn, twice at Louisville now and also at Western KY.
I can't stand him but he's a winner. Don't forget Auburn tried to pull a fast one and hire him once before when Tubs was still HC.
He will coach in the SEC sooner than later you can bank on that.

Whoever hires him they can have him -- he'll put a good offense in the field, I'll give him that but his defenses are routinely terrible, he's not a great recruiter and for all the hype, what has he ever really won? One Orange Bowl?
He had the reigning heisman winner returning at QB this year what has Louisville done? Gone 2-4 in ACC play including losses to Wake Forest and Boston College. Not to mention losing 3 straight to end last season, counting their bowl game stomping by LSU.
Like I said - I think he's vastly overrated, and I think that if an SEC program does hire him, they'd be making a mistake.

I bet Tenn has the clout to make sure Freeze doesn't get a show clause. Everything against him is relatively minor anyway except the Leo stuff and that is flimsy at best when not looking at it through the lense of "we have to get Ole Miss on something"

Show cause or not - there's still NCAA issues under Freeze's watch and I can't help but wonder if that would be a major sticking point with AD's and University Presidents if his name even came up at UT or anywhere else.

I could see HF being OC at UT.

Onestop he wins. No arguing that. Look no farther than what he did at Arkansas in a short period of time. Have they won like that since or even before? no
HF as OC is a path I have heard for him for one season then be named HC.
