Re: OM keeps Watson on staff

It is good to see that Watson is getting a promotion and raise.  Keeping good people on staff should be a priority of Ole Miss and Carter.  They need to do what is needed to do in order to maintain quality personnel.

Re: OM keeps Watson on staff

When you’re a good coach, you know what a good program looks like. Hopefully our administration has elevated to the point where good coaches will see this is a good program and will be less likely to leave for a “better opportunity “when they’ve built up confidence that we are a good program

Re: OM keeps Watson on staff

Kiffin's staff is far better than past staffs at Ole Miss.  Many times on past staffs ineffective coaches were allowed to remain employed and even return after they had left.  With Orgeron, many staff members were forced on him.  Nutt has his group of loyalist and was not going to change.  Freeze did not want to hire anyone who might over shadow him and was too timid to actually fire someone.  Luke was, well just Luke.  Hopefully Ole Miss has learned a lesson and understands what it takes to keep a quality coach on the staff in today's market.

I agree with this. It may be the best staff we've ever had as quality goes.
