we will see. leach is a good coach, just unorthodox. it will either be mediocre or it will fail. i don't see him hitting it big but that is what i thought the last10 years. . mullens made a lot of hay signing all these salt grinders and building them up. the last dude was a dud but still went to bowl games with a mediocre team.
i am ot going to say crap since we have sucked, but i blame that mostly on luke

I have a 20 year relationship with Leach, have written on here a few times his history and what people have called as "successful" He will fail if they want to be a top 1/2 of the SEC team, if they are happy with a 6-7 win season, with a few wins over 1-AA teams and a losing SEC record each year, then they have their man.

Since Dam Mullens has been at Moo U, the cows only have 1 winning SEC record season. Ole Miss has not done much better consider the train wreck engineered by Matt Fluke and the vacated wins resulting from Hugh Sleezes inability to keep his ego in check.

I don't know how successful Leach will be at MSU. I do know this, though. His hiring there was not a well thought out, carefully considered hire. MSU hired Leach as a knee jerk reaction to our hiring of Lane Kiffin. It was a desperation hire. They had already publicly announced that Joe Moorhead was coming back next season, but panic set in upon the announcement that Ole Miss had hired Lane Kiffin. Other SEC schools have passed on Leach over the years. MSU decided to take the plunge without much thinking about it. I don't see Leach going the "Hate Ole Miss!" route that endeared Sherrill and Mullen to the MSU fan base. Maybe Leach will do great at MSU, but I'll wait and see.

The Leech hire at Moo U was definitely a knee jerk, desperate hire for Moo U to keep up with Ole Miss. Joe Morehead could have been a decent coach and is well respected in the coaching world. Morehead was almost immediately hired by Oregon, and Oregon is one of the premium jobs in college football. Don't you know it was a big step up for Morehead to go from Cow Town College to an upscale program at Oregon.
As for Leech at Moo U, he will do okay with an occasional big win. It will just be a matter of time before he does something else out of the ordinary and fans just have to wonder why he did it. Leech is not a big recruiter, but he does have a knack for creating a good offensive scheme. Most likely SEC defenses will figure him out and stop his offense from being very productive.
