David Johnson's in a bad way with the virus

He's diabetic and not doing well at all and as most know Eli has it too. My source say the drs do not plan to recussitate David. Pull for the Johnsons!

I've been seeing updates on Twitter. Thoughts and prayers certainly go out to his family. This virus is certainly hurting alot of families and will change how the world operates.

Re: David Johnson's in a bad way with the virus

David’s daughter Sydney our this on Facebook within the last hour:

This might be the last time I come to ask for prayers for my sweet daddy. This infection has just over taken his body. I know I have felt comfort and peace this week through the power of prayer. I need my dad to feel how loved he is. I need him to know that everything will be okay no matter what. He is going through something that no one should ever have to experience alone. We should be there with him, and we can’t even pick up the phone to call him. It is heartbreaking. If you would please cover him in love and prayers I could never thank you enough.

Re: David Johnson's in a bad way with the virus

I lost a Dr friend in Mem to it today. He had been on one of those stinking cruises. It's bad stuff as I had a friend survive it but he said it was the worst stuff ever. The fatality rate isn't what some are saying and figires are being distorted, but it exists with no cure, which progress on finding has been non existent, for some strange reason.

Re: David Johnson's in a bad way with the virus

This is sad news.  David is a fine person and an excellent writer.  Losing him will cause a big void in the world of Ole Miss sports news.

With this hitting so close to home, maybe more people will take the news more seriously like the people who went to Spring Break, Mardi Gras, and the NOLA St. Patrick's Day celebration.  Hopefully everyone on this board is taking the necessary cautions to not be exposed to CV19.

This virus is bad.  Presently there is no planned treatment, no cure, and no vaccine.

Yes, without sharing too many personal details, things took a positive turn late last night, and he's doing better today. Still in critical condition but he is better off today than he was Thursday/Friday!

I understand he's diabetic and that's a big disadvantage. Hoping for the best here.
