This sucks. This team was on fire. Nation's longest winning streak, most HRs in the nation. Am I just naive in thinking this whole Corona virus ordeal is being overblown?

What's the use in continuing the season if there is no chance of a championship at the end? All SEC baseball teams have cancelled games through 3/30/30, there will be no SEC Championship, there will be no CWS, and there will be no regionals or super regionals. Why even finish the season? Ole Miss was on a good run and it would have been interesting to see how far the team would progress.
The US was not prepared for this virus and knew it was coming. There is still not a really good test in use by the US that gives quick results. Also consider that the CDC botched their testing and initially sent bad kits to be used. Now why would they try to re-invent the wheel when the Germans have a good test that works?
Today I talked to someone in health care and they indicated its all about money. You can send stuff to the CDC or LabCorp, pay for the test, and have to wait five days before getting results.
Consider the fact that John Doe goes in the doctor's office for testing on 3/12/20 and gets his result on 3/17/20 as being positive. Now the entire medical staff and anyone who was in the office between 3/12/20 and 3/17/20 could be considered a carrier. Do you shut down the medical office and put everyone in quarantine. You know that of all the people, most will continue to do what they want and not stay in isolation.
This whole ordeal is spinning out of control. The country knew the virus was coming to the US and did little to late to prevent it. The people who tested positive on the Princess should not have been allowed back into the country for at least a month. Any travel to any infected country should not have been allowed. Now we will see what happens will at the pandemonia associated with this pandemic.

Man, I checked my 401k yesterday, and it was down 10%. I didn't have the nerve to check it today. The media is sinking this economy.

Yes, we have lost a chunk, too. I am putting exits on everything and going to cash. Then put buys on where I exited to rebuy the decent stocks. I do believe that there are some good stocks priced low now, like oil stocks. They will rebound and are at a low price. Of course a broker will tell you to stay in the market.

Celebrity physician Dr. Drew Pinsky isn’t changing his tune about the novel coronavirus, declaring Monday that the news media should be “held accountable” for the damage they’re doing to people’s lives and the economy by over-hyping the virus.
“A bad flu season is 80,000 dead. We’ve got about 18,000 dead from influenza this year; we have 100 from corona,” Dr. Pinsky told CBS Local’s DJ Sixsmith in an interview.“What I have a problem with is the panic and the fact that businesses are getting destroyed and people’s lives are being upended. Not by the virus, but by the panic,” he explained. “The panic must stop, and the press, they really, somehow, need to be held accountable, because they are hurting people.”Dr. Pinsky went on to call the news media’s coronavirus coverage “irresponsible” and “excessive,” and he downplayed the severity of the illness, saying “several people in this building probably have it and don’t know it.”
