The first official visit weekend after the dead period has already gotten off to a good start. Former Temple Owls tight end Kenny Yeboah has committed to the Ole Miss Rebels and is set to join the team as a graduate student who will be immediately eligible for the 2020 season.

Yeboah, a native of Allentown, Pa., was set to transfer to Baylor but obviously that changed when Matt Rhule accepted the head coaching position for the Carolina Panthers. He then made the trek to Oxford, Miss. this weekend for an official visit and made the decision to play for Lane Kiffin rather quickly, announcing via Twitter early Friday afternoon.

At Temple, Yeboah hauled in just 19 receptions for 233 yards and five touchdowns in 2019, but the guy is a specimen. Listed at 6’5, 240-pounds, he will give new tight ends coach Joe Jon Finley an immediate weapon with FBS experience.

He’s got plenty of athleticism and skill in traffic and can run away from more people than you expect in the open field. And the big man has some soft hands to boot.

In an interview with the Philadelphia Inquirer, Yeboah told Marc Narducci that he thought it was best for him to play one more year of college football to better prepare him for the NFL.

“I have thought about it but I would like to get drafted in the top three rounds and I think another year would definitely help me.”

The newest Rebel figures to be a fixture in Kiffin and Jeff Lebby’s high-flying offense in 2020.
