Early enrollees arrive on Ole Miss campus

Three members of the 2020 signing class officially reported to the Ole Miss campus on Tuesday.
The early enrollees include quarterback Kade Renfro, linebacker Daylen Gill and defensive back Lakevias Daniel. Gill and Daniel are both junior college transfers.
One signee, linebacker Austin Keyes, who was expected to be a mid-year enrollee hasn't report just yet. Keys told the Ole Miss Spirit last week that he isn't sure when he will arrive in Oxford and that it could be in late May. Keys, who was expected to be a January enrollee and who was announced as a mid-year arrival by Ole Miss last month, provided few details. He told the Spirit we could call it personal reasons.
Renfro, Gill and Daniel are all expected to go through spring practice with the Rebels, which is anticipated to begin in mid March.
Renfro, out of Stephenville (Texas) High School, will walk into a talented and crowded quarterback room that also includes sophomores Matt Corral and John Rhys Plumlee along with redshirt freshman Kinkead Dent and Grant Tisdale and redshirt freshman walk-on Sellers Shy. The 6-3.5 Renfro was a three-star prospect rated as the nation's No. 51 pro-style passer by the industry-generated 247Sports Composite index.
Here is the 247Sports evaluation of Renfro: Good height and frame potential for a QB. Flashes plenty of natural arm talent, both in velocity and downfield strength. Encouraging ability to drive ball to perimeter and down the seams. Mobile enough to keep defenses honest on occasional designed runs or when extending plays. Should possess high developmental growth potential moving forward. Ball can get out quicker. Release point varies unintentionally at times. Can improve consistency and effectiveness throwing off platform. Filling out frame will help in maximizing arm strength. Raw but tools-heavy QB with a lot of potential moving forward. Derek Bermudez, a 6-1, 180-pounder out of Sandalwood (Fla.) High School in Jacksonville, is set to be an early enrollee but has not yet arrived, he told the Ole Miss Spirit on Tuesday. He was rated as three-star prospect by the industry-generated 247Sports Composite index. He was rated as the nation's No. 43 safety in the 2020 class but owns the skill set to play cornerback, as well. With the opportunity to put a spring practice under his belt prior to his true freshman season, Bermudez could find himself in the rotation in an Ole Miss secondary that lost key contributors Myles Hartsfield and Jalen Julius due to graduation.[img],offset-y0.50&width=150&height=200[/img]Derek Bermudez

Though rated as a safety by 247Sports, the 6-0, 234-pound Gill will line up at inside linebacker for the Rebels and should boost a group that already returns standouts Lakia Henry, MoMo Sanogo and Jacquez Jones.
