Instead of running sprints Leach makes players roll end over end.
Mike Leach "rolled" the #WSU offense 100 yds at the end of practice. Why roll players? Leach explains... (this is pretty good).

This drill would be pretty intense. It would build on getting hit, falling to the ground, and getting back up skill. Also, it would strengthen your core which is one of the keys to being in shape, increasing strength, and intensifying endurance. Can you imagine how dizzy someone might be after rolling head over heels for 100 yards!!! Leach is unconventional and this shows that his practice methods are also unconventional.

The one thing I hated the most during my younger years at practice were "monkey rolls". You have three guys, with two standing on the sides and one laying down. The one laying down would roll to the left, the guy standing next to him would dive over, roll to the next guy, who would dive and then roll (after you're rolling and the guy dives over you, you'd stand up and take his place). Man, that was more exhausting than bear crawls to me.

Yeah, I had forgotten about those things. Like weaving a rope. All 4 butt rolls ran a close second.

When we did those, all 3 guys started from a standing position, then proceeded much like you described. You had better be paired up with others that were agile and coordinated or you ended up in a mess. That was an exhausting drill, like you alluded, but I must say, I became quite proficient.
