MSU welcomes Leach at airport.

Re: MSU welcomes Leach at airport.

I loved that ragged piece of carpet they rolled out.  Great looking airport down there in Starkpatch.  Bet they floated him over to Pet-a-goat Junction on the Hooterville Pirate Ship.  Noticed they went all out and sent 3 tuba players to the airport, also.    Arrrrr mates - hurry out and get your eye-patch.  Wear it over one eye during the first half and switch to the other eye for the second half.

Didn't JoMo sign an extension after the egg bowl (aka Luke Farewell Game)?

Re: MSU welcomes Leach at airport.

I would like to know his first thoughts when they introduce him to that hideous Rosebowl.

Nobody despises to lose more than I do. That's got me into trouble over the years, but it also made a man of mediocre ability into a pretty good coach. Woody Hayes

He's a mediocre coach that says funny things.

Leach looked really uncomfortable.  I don't think a lot of attention like that and a stinking cowbell are in his comfort zone.  He probably keeps thinking, "big raise, big raise, big raise" and "I can leave in a few years".

The whole thing just looked awkward as all get out.

Looked like they were trying too hard.

Exactly. It looked like a scene off of Green Acres.

Re: MSU welcomes Leach at airport.

I've never thought Mike Leach would be a good fit in Starkville. Of course, time and events might prove me wrong. He's never put a lot of emphasis on defense, and MSU has always prided itself on having "salty" defenses. He doesn't make much use of RB's in his system, and MSU has always recruited and featured stud RB's. He's never been up against the better SEC defenses for a sustained period of time, so that's now a question mark. Finally, he's not going to buy into the "Hate Ole Miss" model of Sherrill, Mullen and Cohen. It will be an interesting time in Starkville.
