Newly-hired Partridge rolls out first offer on Ole Miss staff

Newly-hired Ole Miss assistant coach Chris Partridge wasted no time getting started at what he reportedly does best: Recruiting.
Partridge issued an offer to a 2020 defensive back from Louisiana on Thursday evening. The Rebels reached into bayou country to offer three-star safety Donovan Kaufman out of Archbishop Rummel in Metarie, La.
Kaufman is currently committed to Vanderbilt.Kaufman tells the Ole Miss Spirit he has already scheduled an official visit to Oxford. His official to Ole Miss will take place Jan. 24-26.
Kaufman is a three-star prospect rated as the nation's No. 35 safety in the 2020 class by the industry-generated 247Sports Composite index."
I look at it as another opportunity and I’m extremely grateful," said Kaufman.
In addition to Ole Miss and Vanderbilt, the 5-9, 195-pounder also holds reported offers from Florida State, Colorado, Boston College, Memphis, Arkansas State, Army, Liberty, Louisiana-Monroe, South Alabama, Southern Miss, Troy, Tulane, UAB and others.
The offer is a direct result of Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin adding Partridge to his staff, who just left his post at Michigan as the Wolverines safety coach, on Thursday. Partridge had made contact with Kaufman only a few days ago while he was still employed on Jim Harbaugh's Michigan staff.
"From what I know, he's a good guy," Kaufman told the Spirit.Kaufman has already taken his official visit to Vanderbilt. He visited Nashville on the weekend of Dec. 13, but chose not to execute his national letter of intent during last month's early signing period. He said he also plans to take an official visit to Florida State on the weekend of Jan. 17. Kaufman is considered to be a priority recruit for the Seminoles. Florida State offered Kaufman immediately after Mike Norvell took over head coaching duties in Tallahassee last month.
He confirmed Ole Miss will get the last of his official visits.
Kaufman is the highest-rated commit in Vanderbilt's class right now.
