Re: Bjork should be fired

The sliver lining is this joke of a coaching staff will be sent packing on Black Friday.  That will be a great day for Ole Miss football.  Nothing like shedding dead weight.
Bjork is the perfect guy for Ole Miss.  I have zero issues with how he has conducted business.  Of all the coaches we had available Matt made sense.  I mean everyone knew he didn't coach on the o line so that would get us an o line coach.  I'm sure all of us hoped he would be a better manager than a position coach and that hasn't panned out.
Stay focused fellow Rebels.  This season was over before it started so we look forward our new staff we will get to know about in December and the rebirth of our football program will begin.
Bjork has no control over what Freeze did to get us where we are and make no mistake this is all Freeze.  It wouldn't be any better if he were here.

Re: Bjork should be fired

Bjork has control of how the PR was handled with the NCAA and the media raking us through the coals with no comment from our side.

Re: Bjork should be fired

No he doesn't.  Lol.
Vitter, Bjork and anyone speaking as a representative of Ole Miss were only allowed to do and say what our legal team advised which was nothing.  Where do you guys get this stuff?
I don't agree with how it was handled either but that wasn't Bjork's or even Vitter's call.  We botched this up by not following what our outside counsel recommended.  For that alone our University legal team needs to be cleared out as well.

And who's decision was that?  I once saw a picture of Harry Truman's Oval Office desk.....there was a plate/plaque that said, "The buck stops here".  SO the administration needs to either lead, follow or get the hell out of the way.... I vote for #3....  They turned belly up and threw us on the mercy of a bunch who wanted to cut our heart out.... That is a lack of leadership.

Re: Bjork should be fired

Our University hired legal team (Lee Tyner and others) recommended we not follow the outside counsel.  Vitter followed what they suggested.  Thats the real question.  Why did our own counsel disagree with outside counsel?  Namely the guy who used to work for the NCAA.  Forget his name.
In my mind you clean house with the University legal team. Can you imagine the blowback if Vitter had made the call to follow outside counsel instead of our own legal team?  You guys just think it's bad now.
Fwiw again I don't with how it was handled or what was not done/done, etc.  That said if we want to properly assess responsibility it goes directly to our legal team.  They are supposed to be the experts.  Neither Vitter nor Bjork would have the legal capacity to overrule them.

Re: Bjork should be fired

What did they disagree on? This is the first I have heard of this.

Re: Bjork should be fired

Semper and others can explain it better than me for sure.  This is why you see so much ire for Tyner and his staff on other message boards.  It's been too long for me to recall even remotely accurately.

Re: Bjork should be fired

There is no doubt Vitter and Bjork should both be long gone but the person who was in charge in the Lyceum playing patty fingers with his boy Lee Tyner was no ther than Dan Jones. In my opinion Jones was one of if not the worst chancellor in Ole Miss history. His agenda is killing the University and UMMC as we know it. The entire lot of them should be given pink slips. JMHO.

Often lawyers have inflated egos and do not like to be told what to do.  In this case Tyner may not have wanted some outside counsel telling him how to work with the NCAA.  If Tyner took the advise of the outside counsel, then Tyner would be losing control and Ole Miss would not be doing "what he said" to do.  This is ridiculous because the outside counsel had good experience dealing with the NCAA.  There is no doubt that Tyner and the whole Ole Miss legal staff need to be fired, but who will actually lead the campaign to eliminate this horrible legal team from Ole Miss?  Once again it may take a group like Forward Rebels to clean house in Oxford.  There is no doubt that the current group is not getting things done positively for Ole Miss.
