Thoughts on the New Ole Miss Chancellor

The current Ole Miss Chancellor lied to qualified candidates and always knew he was going to get the job. During the process he kept $87,000 of funds that were supposed to be used to find a new chancellor for lying and going along with the scheme of hiring himself as chancellor.  He remains in hiding and does not have much to say about the incident.  This alone is reason to have him removed.  If he would steal money for his own self interest, then what might keep him from diverting funds for his benefit.  Boyce needs to be impeached and removed.

Re: Thoughts on the New Ole Miss Chancellor

Boyce also disabled the Chancellor Twitter account. The guy is gonna stay in hiding for a long while, just hoping that people forget. All of this is very political with the IHL. And not to try to go into any deep political talks, but Hood was against the IHL while Tate was all about his buddies in the IHL continuing to have all of the power. This past election was a good chance for us to get rid of the IHL, but apparently folks love the status quo enough to elect Tate.

Re: Thoughts on the New Ole Miss Chancellor

I am not defending him or the way that he was hired but I believe that the reason why the Twitter acct was suspended and he's been so quiet is because people were targeting him.  His announcement had to be cancelled due to protests and the Twitter account was being used as a sounding board.

I can see this being the reason, but he needs to at least be speaking to us through the media and not hiding himself away behind closed doors.

Re: Thoughts on the New Ole Miss Chancellor

Leadership at some point requires you start working through the hard issues.  We have a load of the.   If he is not ready or able to meet the challenges, he failed and so did the process.

There really is no excuse.  The people who see the selection process as a sham continue to feel justified of their opinion every day that passes with no viable action or progress.

I bet Boyce is just waiting for basketball season and the potential positive press it might generate before he comes out of hiding so he can be the face of the parade.  Or if we beat state and back door into a bowl, he will jump on that bandwagon.

There are so many issues to address, making it look like you have not lifted a finger to work on any of them only makes it a bigger PR hill to climb

This is VERY true. He needs to get out in front of things.

The way he has done things, thus far, only further strengthen the argument that he should have never have been hired.

A leader doesn't cower when things don't go their way.

Re: Thoughts on the New Ole Miss Chancellor

a leader recognizes when there are issues and does not wait for them to go away. Not our issues anyway.

I look forward to seeing what he does.

Re: Thoughts on the New Ole Miss Chancellor

One thing he should do is give back the $87k he deceitfully took.  This is dirty money and if he had a conscious, he would return it.  Most likely Boyce will prove himself to be a self serving puppet who does little to improve Ole Miss.
