The Luke supporters are saying this was a great game for Luke. Ole Miss stayed in the game and did not have any problems scoring against the #1 team in the nation. The Rebel team was loaded with Freshmen who fought handily to keep the team competitive. There is no doubt that Luke is improving and is due both a contract extension and a raise. If you don't believe this, then ask Luke, Boyce, or any of the Luke supporters who just don't have a grasp on the reality of the situation.

And all the spin in the world won’t change this:

Unfortunately, they are being purposefully slow on hiring an AD. The fact that we don't have an AD already just shows how far this administration will go to protect Luke. At the end of the day, we all know a couple of things:
1. Attendance still be even worse next season.
2. A new excuse will be made and shoved down the fanbase's throat next season as well to justify keeping him.
I'm hoping I'm wrong and Carter is named AD and fires Luke at the end of the season. But I'm not holding my breath.

Of the fan in attendance at the LSU game, what percent were LSU fans? Most likely quite a few were not there out of loyalty to Ole Miss.
On the AD situation, Ole Miss has been dragging its feet. Luke has basically been given the green light to continue his inept method of coaching. Supposedly Carter and Luke are friends, so it would probably be hard for Carter to make demands on Luke and to potentially fire him.
