I was thinking while ago - can the University not request the COI to rule in a timely manner? I honestly believe by dragging out their ruling, that it just leaves even more questions/unknowns around the program and would hinder us in both recruiting, as well as the search for a HC.

I believe it would only serve to slow them down. Part of the MO seems to be to drag this out on purpose to cause as much damage as possible, while on the other hand not handing out the death penalty. But, by default this has the same effect... almost.

Exactly.....it's part of the' punishment'....as uncertainty of the future can do more damage than the 'known'. Once you know you can begin to heal....but as long as the uncertainty remains it's akin to not allowing a wound to heal. Reopening or allowing the wound to remain open for longer periods makes the resulting 'scar' bigger.
Imagine in a court allowing a jury 8-10 weeks to report back......

I wish someone would line up the supposed violations, figure some way to put a monetary figure on them and compare that to what the University has spent in money, and time and show how the damages far exceeds the violations.

Other than Finebaum saying he was hearing they may delay the ruling, has anyone else confirmed that they’re actually delaying a ruling? My guess is no and that they’ll report it within 4-6 weeks from the “trial” as usual.

Supposedly Pat Forde said that too, but those two are the only ones I've heard say anything to that effect.

October 9 will mark the 4 week point and October 23 will be 6 weeks. If we give them 8 weeks, that would put us at November 6. I would hope and pray that they will have the ruling out by then.

I don't expect to hear a decision before the Egg Bowl to be honest and that is good for us regarding the extent of the penalties in my opinion.
I do agree they are dragging out every single phase to maximize the "cloud of doom" effect that has been 5 years in the making but it's coming to an end soon.
That timeline makes sense to me because it allows us to wallow through the entire season in total disarray, ruins one more recruiting class potentially unless we can make a big time hire in early December and snag a few good kids. Next season MS is loaded with blue chip talent and we will have lots of catching up to do but I think we will be able to get who we want once that big time HC is hired. Again that is why the hire is so critical. Our return hinges on it.
