I don't know if it's true just thought I would post it since the same guy told me Freeze was screwing around on his wife a year ago and I did'nt believe him.

I make no bones about it. I want them to hire him back as a screw you to the NCAA. He can coach and he can recruit. His problems were personal.
If I remember correctly when Freeze was initially questioned about the origina phone number in question he claimed it was a misdial and he had no knowledge of whose number it was ---- of course that turned out to not be an honest answer. No matter what line of work you're in, you don't lie to your boss....that'll get you fired quick. Maybe if he had been honest, he'd still be at Ole Miss. I don't know if that's the case or not; just speculation.
I think it was Chuck and other kool-aid drinkers that pushed the misdial narrative. What I heard is that when confronted, Hugh admitted it outright. I could be wrong but the guy was honest enough to walk away from millions of dollars and not fight for a buyout. Hey, if I didn't think that he would be a good coach, I wouldn't want him back but I think he really did a good job and a lot of people in a lot of power positions simply did not like him and trumped up charges against his program and dug until they found a sin worth exposing. We all have our sins, which is why I for one, think all of that is personal and should be dealt with in his own personal life.

Freeze served himself up on the block when he publicly challenged the NCAA to find fault. Now all of us were in agreement with that statement when it was made but in hind sight it was the beginning of his end or maybe foreshadowing for what was to be uncovered about him down the road.
I don't want him anywhere near our program ever again. Period. There are at least 24 football coaches that would be better as our next HC without the baggage that Freeze will carry with him going forward. We can do better. No doubt he was successful but his success also landed us squarely in the shit we are in right now with bad recruiting decisions such as going after guys we had little to no chance of signing and then having to scramble at the last minute to find substitutes that were strikingly lower quality. During this process we either shunned or walked away from solid players we could have signed who wanted to be here no less. That is a recipe for disaster in college football and Freeze should have known better. Again this points to this God complex he has thinking that kids are going to come play for him. He was too big for his own good. How else do you explain his reckless behavior in his personal life? Yes that is his personal life but he was the face our football program and in many ways still is. The sooner we can remove that ugly mole the better.
Nothing Freeze could do as our current HC would make any difference. We would still suck. This was coming regardless of who was coaching. Now you could argue that it might not have been as bad as it was. I will argue the bama loss would have been worse with him just to further drive home the point of us kicking the giant and rubbing their noses in it.
One thing Freeze did do is establish the blueprint for how to beat Bama. That can be used by the next HC and his staff. Beating Bama puts you on the inside track for everything else. What Freeze couldn't do was get our kids and coaches focused on every game when they were being played after Bama and that got us to the alter but we were unable to finish.
Freeze was dead to rights. How else do you explain him walking away from $16m knowing he may not be hirable later? Col and others said he was destined for the pulpit. Maybe this was part of his plan to have a savior's story to sell to the congregations as they are pouring their money into the offering plate.
I do think our Admin saw this opportunity as a golden egg opportunity to serve him up to the NCAA. The GOB's made sure they had their guy in place to be the interim HC to hold things together. The moves were too smooth and coordinated to have happened any other way. At some point I think there was a meeting between the NCAA and Ole Miss and a deal was struck. We give them what they want which is Freeze so they can trumpet the fact that they proved he was dirty in exchange for a lighter penalty assessment.
The wheels ran off when Luke lost, well never really had, control of this team. Otherwise the GOB spin machine would be at full tilt telling us why Luke was in a no win situation and needed 3-4 years minimum to show what he could with his guys and what not. They were already being stated but thank God we have sucked so bad early those voices have gone quiet. If we happen to catch a lightning strike and win a game we aren't supposed the rest of the season they will resurface. You can bank on that. Now that said I think I have a better shot of winning the lottery without buying a ticket as I don't see another winnable game on our schedule.
Let me be very clear in my wishes: First week of December. Fire the entire staff. Top to bottom. Clean them all out. Hire a big time HC and let him completely build his staff with who he wants. Buckle up and get ready to go to work as better days will be ahead and we can get this thing back on the tracks sooner than later. Hopefully this time for good. Until then I couldn't care less what happens. The end result will be the same. 2-10 with lots of players disgruntled, coaches spending more time looking for their next gig than earning their current gig's wages, etc. It's going to get much worse before it gets better. No one thought we could hang with Bama. Where it starts getting ugly is when we get beat worse by Auburn for firing Gus's boy Freeze. Then we face Vandy and Mason was good friends with Freeze also. That could be a blowout loss as well. LSU may not win another game at this point but if they do it will be when they pound our asses. Arkansas rinse and repeat last few years but it won't be close. kentucky on the road. they playing for bigger bowl. We playing to end the season. Blowout loss. LaLa played A&M to the ropes in the first half earlier in the year. They will come in knowing they can beat us and will but it may be close. A&M will finally get a win against us after we stole one in CS last fall. Then the ultimate backyard brawl will look more like a gang beating when we get prison raped in starkville.
The following week if not before we will find out our penalties and hopefully we will be ok with them and we can schedule the press conference for our new beginning.
