This is a pretty good write up on the Matt Luke situation, but the writer takes a very middle of the road approach. It is a WordPress blog, so you should be able to comment. Click on the link below and add your comments to the blog.

I'm 99.9999% positive I read this article yesterday elsewhere...
Having said that, there is zero reason to keep Luke. It's not like we have a class full of 5 stars lined up.

My response which is awaiting review so that it can be posted:
Matt Luke should never have been given the head football coaching job at Ole Miss. He was not a successful position coach, so what would make him a successful head coach? The main reason Luke is head coach at Ole Miss is due to the political influence extended by his family and supporters to the Ole Miss Administration.
Luke was forced onto two staffs at Ole Miss and simply allowed to stay even though the position he coached generally was a weak link for the Ole Miss football program. Coach O recognized the laziness and unwillingness of Luke to not be a fully vested team player on his staff. Matt Luke knew he might get fired and could not take the pressure, so he bolted to UT to be under the safety wing of his mentor, David Cutcliffe.
The excuses are abundant for the Luke supporters, but the fact is that with Luke as head coach, Ole Miss will be nothing more than a mediocre, bottom of the SEC program. There is really no valid excuse for keeping him as the Ole Miss head football coach because he simply has not and cannot get the job done.
Matt Luke is under qualified, over paid, and a liability to the success of the Ole Miss football program. Luke has stated that he loves Ole Miss. Well, if he truly loves Ole Miss, then he would resign and allow someone who is more qualified and has the potential to win championships to be hired as head coach of the Ole Miss football program. Otherwise, Luke needs to be fired so that a new head football coach can be found.

The problem with Ole Miss athletics started at the top. Vitter and Bjork allowed the NCAA to run over Ole Miss and literally accepted anything and everything until our program was depleted and dismantled to a point of near "oblivion." Thank goodness they have moved on.
We still have a BIG problem with our athletcis at Ole Miss, especially with the programs that bring in that all important "MONEY," especially our football program, and a basketball program which allows players to "kneel" during the National Anthem in order to "protest" some disagreement over a so-called political agenda. which amounts to one person's beliefs against another's. Our athletic fields are not the place to show and demonstrate "political correctness."
What is needed at Ole Miss are programs that gets the fans off their wallets and back in the seats.
Problem is that wtih the hirinig of Matt Luke, at least half of the Rebel followers did NOT want him as our coach (me included), about 25% had mixed feelings, and the other 25% or less (the GOB's) had Vitter's ear and more than likely "his checkbook."
Ole Miss needs a completely revamped program, with a good, smart, well knowledgable head coach that plans on buidling Ole Miss to be the next 'dominent team. This coach has to be able to choose his own assistants without question and to "run" his program as he sees fit. I believe that past coaches at Ole Miss have proven that not only can we recruit on a national scale, but we can also win nationally and consistently. If ANY coach we hire does not believe this, then we don't need them at Ole Miss. I'm not living in the past, but I believe that past years have proven that Ole Miss can consistently be a national power to contend with year in and year out in ALL sports.
I'm tired of having second rate coaches, mediocre seasons, and coaches that appear to be as lost as a "deer in headlights."
Without a doubt we have recruited some very good players, but what I see is that (wtih exceptions) we don't have a full team of coaches to get these players to the next level of a Power 5, SEC West Division football with a consistency of being competitive and able to win every game! The coaches we currently have can't get our players to the next level because they have never been at that level to teach someone else how to play to that level. Coaching is more than the "knowing" how to teach to "block and tackle," it is also knowing how to motivate and get players to a level of determination and willingness to only accept a goal of winning on each and evey play. (I believe that Coach Bianco has this problem)
All of this to say that our football program needs to "clean house," and give our players AND fans something to YELL about. Hopefully we have a good Chancellor (time will tell). So far, from what I hear, some of the liberal progressives on campus don't like him. That's a feather in his cap as far as I'm concerned.
Ole Miss needs an Athletic Director AND a Head Football Coach that knows their business, their direction, who to hire, how to teach and the morivation to "get 'er done."
We need people dedicated to get Ole Miss back to #1.

You know, that's about par for the course and could be a reality. That would keep three Lukes in control at Ole Miss. There should be nepotism rules to prevent so many family members to be employed in positions where they are able to use their influence.

Thanks. So far they have posted my response, so my comments may not have been approved. Maybe this blogger is a Luke fan and will not allow partiality from other posters.

Or what about this scenario . . .
Luke is fired from his job as HC at Ole Miss. Ole Miss hires a really good football coach who is putting together his staff. Then out of nowhere, Luke is forced on the new coach's staff as OL coach!!! The AD says Ole Miss is having to pay Luke to buyout his contract so he might as well be working!!!
