There had been rumors this was gonna happen and yesterday it was official. Guess A&M will get some party decks now.

We can argue about the job both Michael and Ross Bork did at Ole Miss--and there are certainly differing opinions. But it is beyond doubt that both had become lightning rods for criticism, and that wasn't going to go away any time soon. It's best for both Michael and Ross that they moved on, and it's best for Ole Miss.

I liked MT. I thought that he did not really get a fair shake. He did some weird things but also brought a lot of good things to the table that we did not have before. He did market us much better than anything that was done under Boone.
Bjork was a floating turd, though.

Good riddance. Michael Thompson was part of the group that tried to undermine Coach O and bring in Noel Mazzone. After that fiasco, why would anyone trust him? Now Ole Miss has the chance to make a good hire, but you can almost be assured that they will mess it up. Maybe they will spend big bucks on a search committee and then either hire someone from within or someone on the committee!!!

Coach O was fired at the end of the 2007 season. Michael Thompson didn't join the OM Athletic Department until 2010. How was he involved in the scheme to undermine Coach O and hire Mazzone? Not trying to be argumentative, just curious.

Although he wasn't at Ole Miss at the time, he was part of a group of people who wanted to have Orgeron overthrown and Mazzone appointed as head coach. Another person in this group was the leader of the Spirit. They were all golfing buddies and rode the Mazzone bus that broke down on the way home from Starkville after a severe beating by Moo U.
