I just can't see how 5 years worth of investigations can be justified when most of the BS they pulled up in findings were in affect, self reportable bs
If we had known this was what they were going to pull, could we have not started self imposing penalties 3 years ago?
there has to be a statutory limit on how long these D heads can set up shop. It cost us millions in defense, millions more in lost revenues and an invaluable amount of talent that either we missed on or never even got consideration from over the last few years because of this NCAA bs.
The issue is also with state. we lost a lot of battles with state because they were the source of the BS. Simmons, Gay, Lewis, and others would have been difference makers on our defense. All were locks with OM at some point until their thin character broke and they sided with the humpback.
Life sure is unfair, but it all comes around at some point
Well let me pose a question. Suppose a crooked bureaucrat worked for the NCAA and had an influential coach (as in a coach with connections inside the NCAA) who wanted to hurt a rival institution's team call in a favor..... The bureaucrat manages to start an investigation but comes up empty but still wanted to deliver on the favor and take down the rival..... I can't think of a better way to do it than what we've witnessed. Set up shop indefinitely, drag out the investigation which casts innuendo on the rival...accept testimony from shady characters as gospel.....trump up charges and pronounce the rival guilty until they prove themselves innocent......
I figure that would just about equal the death penalty......
I hate to sound conspiratorial but this thing reeks of a kangaroo court.

The more this plays out, the more I actually believe this scenario. Rival Crack head fan site administrator keeps getting inside scoops days before information drops. The most hateful anti ole miss asshole sports writers get cc’d on leaks and collaborates the leaks adding fuel to the fire.

Yup.....just a little too coincidental too many times....that is a trend not coincidence.

For a long time, I thought Ole Miss was playing for a leak lawsuit against the NCAA. Instead we have let them push us around. Our leaders need to demand the sentence be handed down asap.

to play the other side of the flip side. If our administration aren't pushing for immediate closure, then it has to be because they are not trying to push their luck because they know there are bigger fish they are trying to keep under wraps.
there was a bjork interview a month or so ago in which he stated, prior to the draft, for all intense and purposes, the investigation was over, we were at the doorstep of moving forward with what we assumed was the crux of the penalties which we already self imposed and all was about to be dealt with.
then draft night opened up a new can of worms and as well as the door to a new wave of BS. this needs to end now. 6 weeks is entirely to long for closer of a 5 yr investigation.
I still think the fact that Leo's questioning took up most of the time and that we finished almost a day early says that, the previous crap they can nail us for did not have to be rehashed and we did not add any further details. From all accounts not hateful towards OM, Leo got skewed and OM felt good about where they stood.
Does this matter? who knows, but it should be known by now. I still stand by the fact this entire investigation took so long to uncover bs nit picking violations for the most part, destroy multiple recruiting classes and pretty much helped killed the end of our year, that our bowl band be retro active for last year...

With all of the above said, regardless of the outcome it will be 5-8 years before OM has anything to be optimistic about. So we might as well pick up another hobby as I have. I try not to watch college football just like I do not watch the NFL babies kneeling. No need to endorse a corrupt system.
Best case scenario (unrealistic also) - NCAA drops all charges. No penalties. We are left with a program that is currently in disarray and cannot compete. Even if Saban came it would take 5 years to build the program back.
Worst case scenario (realistic) - 2 year bowl ban and loss of many scholarships. Everyone leaves. In 4 years we are off probation and try to recruit again. We are 4 years behind everyone else financially and in talent. It takes a new coach 4-5 years to rebuild the program after 4 years of probation.
It's important to note that at this point it doesn't really matter whether the current players transfer or not. We suck with them and we will continue to suck without them.
