I just hope that the coaching search firm that we hired actually pulls in someone worth a damn. This season will be a bust, as will our recruiting class for this season as well. Whoever comes in will have to be able to take a group of less talented kids and really coach them up. And for those thinking there may be a "fix" in for Luke to retain the title - no chance in hell in that. Expect to see an empty VHS after the beatdown we get from Auburn next.
Guys that would be on my short list:
Mike Leach
Chad Morris
Scott Frost

Unfortunately searching firms in the past have not helped Ole Miss. Because of the internal politics involved at Ole Miss combined with the questionable success rate of Ole Miss'past use of search firms, many fans have little faith in a positive outcome for finding the next Ole Miss Head football coach. Considering the past facts that no big names really applied for the past openings, in addition to having to deal with an inept Chancellor who is more interested in being politically correct instead of advancing athletics, why would anyone think a successful coach would come to Ole Miss? Hopefully everyone enjoyed the Sugar Bowl win a few years ago because the odds are against Ole Miss for near future success. Hopefully I am wrong.

We also had a head coach who publicly, via social media, outright dared the NCAA and others to report Ole Miss if they had a problem and after that trumpeted that things were being done the "right way" -- then with the NCAA on campus, a dumbass (Farrar) engaged in some shadiness....again, during an investigation WITH the NCAA on campus....I imagine an outright slap in the face like that probably did piss the NCAA off.
I don't think folks within Ole Miss intended for any of this to happen, but things snowballed on them...and my issue is no one corralled it before getting out of hand.
What I don't believe is that beating Alabama brought our problems as some folks speculate --- I think a lot of it was due to Freeze and staff and their actions and Freeze's propensity to be overly defensive and engage folks who questioned him and his program.
during the time period that freeze called out all the noise about recruiting, we had zero issue the NCAA could dig up.
It seems to me, once the investigation was basically over, you have what I hope was an orchestrated effort to frame Ole Miss using leo and jones, et al.
every issue under freeze that the ncaa pounded us for is petty. sleeping on couches, hunting on land, and then trying to pin some guy driving kids to a camp in which the same guy also drove players to many other camps but they only cared about when he drove them to OM? Sorry, but this is bs. complete BS

We can be mad at the NCAA all we want, but the bottom line is Ole Miss created a lot of these issues itself.
I completely disagree. They camped out until they found something, made up what they didn't have and blew what little they did have out of proportion. Nothing we had warranted the response that it received. Most of the level 1 violations should be 2s or 3s. This should have been handled internally like Alabama has been allowed to do with similar violations. This is a witch hunt plain and simple.

Then that begs the question why did Ole Miss self impose penalties including a bowl ban?

Because we did get caught doing certain things. Nutt had some academic fraud Incidents. There were improprieties in which are stupid and petty but are against NCAA rules. That is why we did the self-imposed penalties because we got caught and we have to pay the price. The issue is five years worth of investigation and then all these other trumped up charges that we have to continually defend ourselves against and now wait way to long to get a ruling.
If this was any other school it would’ve been taken care of along time ago. But I have a bias and prejudice were being made an example of
