NCAA

I've heard talk of the NCAA ruling to be handed down after the Egg Bowl. If true, Ole Miss needs to sue them. This has been a long enough process and we have suffered enough. Waiting is just adding to the pain.

Rip the bandaid off, NCAA. You've had almost 6 years.

Re: NCAA

I Agree, the last 5 years, with this dark cloud has been the same as being on probation.

I can't help but wonder if there would be grounds for such a lawsuit -- are their rules/agreements in place between the NCAA and member institutions that say rulings have to be given in a certain timeframe?

Follow the bouncing ball.....this has been part of their plan all along....extend the uncertainty as long as possible knowing that uncertainty like this would eat away at the program.... This is just another form of death penalty only it's not 'official'....but it is cold, calculated, vengeful, and deliberate.  We are not allowed to threaten the power structure....and it's being made very clear to us....

Re: NCAA

We can be mad at the NCAA all we want, but the bottom line is Ole Miss created a lot of these issues itself.

Well...IMO if the NCAA were to camp on any other school for 5 years and conducted a real investigation they would find as much or more than they did in Oxford......

But then you do have a point in that we created much of the problem by "exemplary cooperation" instead of telling them to pound sand and prove it or move along.

Re: NCAA

Anybody that thinks Olé Miss is the ugly duckling, the step child, the one and only 'sinner' need to get their heads out of the sand.  Yeah, we brought a certain amount of the evil that lurks at our door, but that is because we had a couple of really stupid players (Tunsil - for one) that made us appear much worse than we actually were.  Everyone in the country, not Olé Miss, has wanted to see us crucified.  And they all want to act as though they have never sinned!  Well, cast the first stone.  Everybody in their right mind knows that $hit goes on EVERYWHERE, except Alabama!!!   They are untouchable, they don't have to 'cheat' - their words, not mine.

We are virtually dead, they, like some said, have managed to give us the death penalty, without actually announcing it.

Re: NCAA

We also had a head coach who publicly, via social media, outright dared the NCAA and others to report Ole Miss if they had a problem and after that trumpeted that things were being done the "right way" -- then with the NCAA on campus, a dumbass (Farrar) engaged in some shadiness....again, during an investigation WITH the NCAA on campus....I imagine an outright slap in the face like that probably did piss the NCAA off.

I don't think folks within Ole Miss intended for any of this to happen, but things snowballed on them...and my issue is no one corralled it before getting out of hand.

What I don't believe is that beating Alabama brought our problems as some folks speculate --- I think a lot of it was due to Freeze and staff and their actions and Freeze's propensity to be overly defensive and engage folks who questioned him and his program.

Re: NCAA

You say that beting Alabama didn't contribute to our troubles with the NCAA  -maybe not but one thing is for certain; beating them two in a row and nearly three pissed Saban more than anything in his coaching career has.  I don't think the asshole has gotten over that, yet.  Even with the beatdown they executed last night.

Anybody that thinks Bama doesn't have the NCAA as a lap dog is fooling themselves.

Re: NCAA

If you cheat and don't win, nobody cares.  It's when you cheat and do win that people care.
