Unless, somehow, the GOBs are neutered along with the free pass for Luke, what's the point besides appearances?

Fwiw 24 current head coaches have been contacted and every single one of them said they would take the job if offered.  So there goes the theory that a big time head coach wouldn't be interested in our program because of the NCAA.  Top 10 pay, high profile of the SEC, an alumni base who has proven we will vigorously support a winning program, all of the facilities to garner top tier recruits, Oxford and our University sell themselves.  
I was told we would hire a new head coach the first week of December and some of the names that were floated out made me smile.  Luke is not and won't be considered.  That made me smile even more!
Also Walker Jones isn't going to be the next AD but I am hearing John Hartwell is who the GOB's want.  Hartwell would be as bad or worse than Jones.  So here is to hoping we can retain Bjork.  I know many don't like him but he is the best option for us in my opinion at this moment.

Fuentes
McIntyre
Hopson
Wilson
Sumlin
Brown
Venebles
Pruitt
Bobo
I’m sure there are others I can’t recall off the top of my head. Many have been discussed. Some won’t move forward but all have expressed interest. That’s a positive thing.
Appears the search will actually be a search for the first time in a long time.

McIntyre won’t make it either. Too old and too much risk with the domestic violence that happened under his watch.
To be clear that’s a very incomplete list.
As we all know once the coaching carousel starts spinning and dominoes start falling we won’t have any idea who truly is available and what schools are looking for a new coach or replacing one that just took another job elsewhere. 
For instance:
Bielema takes Nebraska job when Riley is fired
Norcell goes to Arkansas.
Memphis hires longo
Riley is on the market and Ole Miss is looking for an oc. Now we know the new Ole Miss coach will bring his own staff so that wouldn’t be a big deal for Ole Miss but the new coach filling his staff creates more domino effects elsewhere.
That’s how one single scenario can send multiple searches into a tailspin.

Of course these will or won’t make it calls are my opinion.
If nothing else the fact that Matt Luke will be a coach somewhere else is rewarding and gives hope for our program going forward.
