If I recall discovery was to begin on or around the 25th of this month. As I have been told this is when the subpoenas will be delivered and depositions taken by all parties included in the suit.
Semper or another one of our legal experts can address the specifics as I am simply passing along what I have read here and elsewhere so take that fwiw.
I'm not sure what the timeline is for the suit now. I'll see if I can get some information.
As for Mars and the WSJ story, the burner phone issue was addressed by Ole Miss during the investigative process. It was not mentioned in either NOA. Mars is trying to embarrass Ole Miss into some kind of voluntary apology/payment since he's not going to get one through the legal process. Mars and Nutt have cast their lot with Steve Robertson and the other Ole Miss haters in a desperation move to "get something" from Ole Miss. They're as slimy as they come.

Why does Ole Miss not just indicate if they are accused of using burner phones, then prove it? Instead they try to incriminate themselves by trying to gather information about the burner phones. Besides the Rebel Rags lawsuit, someone needs to sue Houston Mutt and shut him up. Maybe he could be sued by multiple Ole Miss fans for damages he inflicted when he was supposed to be coaching the team. In addition, he should be sued for impersonating a coach.

How quickly we forget that "prove it" mantra is what got us to the shitshow we are viewing today....
Until we get lots of stuff cleaned up we don't need to be inviting any prying eyes or investigators anywhere near our athletics program.
Of course we can argue that what was self reported was nickel and dime shit to every school not named Ole Miss but in our case they added up as $20's and $100's.
I hope we have learned our lesson regarding self reporting or inviting investigators into our program. I would hope from this point forward we fight them tooth and nail from the start.

We've never said, "prove it" ala Auburn in my reckoning.

Freeze's twitter response, which basically said prove it, is what some believe started the second round of NCAA investigations.

That is exactly what started the investigation. They were already convinced we were cheating and this was the public challenge that set them over the edge.
If others have better theories as to what actually transpired I would like to hear them. It would be easier to accept for sure. To think that Freeze may have created his own and our demise is unreal.
